Carl came highly recommended by members of my running club as someone who could help me achieve my running goals and create a training plan tailor made for me.
We discussed goals, work schedules and the fact that I didn’t want to completely give up my social life. He put together a tailor-made plan specific for me that would both fit my lifestyle and challenge me as a runner and keep me motivated and running happy. My training plan also included strength and conditioning exercises and meeting weekly for speed sessions which included warm-up exercises and running drills. Carl also monitored my training via my an app.
As the weeks went by, I was amazed at the progress I was making. My training program was fairly technical but not as hard as I thought it was going to be – he set much slower-paced training sessions than I was used to, so that in the end I would run faster. My running improved significantly in both speed and endurance.
Carl did an awesome job preparing me both physically and mentally for my goal race – checking in after runs, offering advice on nutrition, hydration and race day strategy were all key components of my training plan and his feedback and encouragement were instrumental in me smashing my goal with a time of 3:23:19 (25 mins off my previous official marathon time). I’m living proof that with some hard work and the expertise of a dedicated coach, anything is possible.
