5km 16-Week Program:
What It’s About
For beginners or those returning to running, our 16-week program is designed to build a solid foundation for a successful 5km journey. With gradual progression and SRSR’s unwavering support, you’ll cross the finish line with pride. SRSR’s 16-week program is a fantastic choice for those specifically training for those wanting to run 5km continuously for the first time or aiming to rekindle their love for running. The gradual progression and well-structured plan ensure you build the necessary strength, endurance, and confidence to tackle a 5km with a smile.
Who This Suits
- Beginners:If you’re new to running and your aim is to complete a 5km, Carl’s 16-week plan provides a solid foundation for success to run 5km continuously with a smile.
- Returning Runners: If you’re getting back into running after a break, the 16-week program will help you regain your fitness and rekindle your love for running.
2024 School Cross Country Program
This program prepares students for the 2024 School Cross Country season. For children 11 years and older the program consists of a Monday track session and then a second run of the week to be done with a parent or guardian.
Training: Monday’s 5:15pm-6:15pm at McPherson Park, 146 Denham Street, Bracken Ridge. The first session is free for children to give it a go.
Monday and Wednesday Night Distance or Sprint Sessions for Children
For children aged 7-10 years there is sprint training with a fun games based program. 11-17 years old children have the option of sprint or distance training. In a supportive environment coaching will be provided on technique as children are encouraged to enjoy their running whilst pursuing improvement. Session Structure will be based on the School, District or Club Events dates for the year with each child provided the opportunity to set goals and achieve personal bests.
